Cafe Central, T Nagar.

T Nagar, the prime hotspot for shopaholics, seriously lacks good cafes/hang out spot. The area has a good number of restaurants but mostly the kind that shells out quick meals, South Indian and vegetarian!

Now that’s changed and how..

Located on Dr.Nair’s road, Cafe Central (opened up a few months back) is perfect the perfect place. Whether you planning to take a break between shopping madness or just catch up with friends or chill with a book..

Bright red, yellow and blues of the furniture blend with the rustic greens and greys of the wall to paint a unique and beautiful decor. The 50 seater has a casual charm about it. The quirky upholstery, white washed wooden frames, the bright neon post-it notes on the pillars, the lamps, foot tapping music, all adds to the charm.

The menu had something for everyone! From soda pops to cutting chai.. From french fries to Ghar ka khana.. From chicken wings to chicken tikka.. From custards to donuts.. They cover a wide range of Indian and Continental items. *Drools*

We tried a number of things from the menu, all recommend by the management. What we tried and loved, a brief:

Drinks
:

With over 30 drinks to choose from, the menu offers shakes, sodas, smoothies, cold pressed juices and hot beverages.

We tried Vanilla frosty, Cranberry Soda pop,Caramel Carnival, Good Old Chocolate, Very Berry, and Healthy & Mazedar.

True to its name, The good old chocolate, was too good. Perfectly dark and sinfully rich. Yumm!

The soda pop was fizzy, tangy and crisp. The caramel carnival and very berry- very verydelicious.

Food :
Namma fries: Who does not love fries? Topped with Podi and served with ghee & more podi, this desi version of fries was plain drool worthy.

Beer Vengayam : Beer battered Onion Rings fried to Perfection and served with garlic sauce. Gimme more I say.

BBQ Chicken Wings: Available in half and full dozen, this one is truly finger licking good. Fried to crisp and slattered with Spice BBQ sauce, it should be called Bliss wings instead.

Burgers : We got to try the of these:
Don’t call me burger – veg patties topped with pickle, cheese and the works was crispy and delicious.

Ying yang – Teriyaki grilled chicken, cheddar cheese, Teriyaki mayo, caramalized onions and mushrooms. Filling!!

Fire Eater – Peri Peri grilled chicken, Super hot sauce, tomatoes and lettuce come together to create this Awesomeness. #Bliss

Mac & cheese : I’m not a great fan. Friends loved it. It was creamy and saucy and cheesy.

Soul meal : Steamed rice served with malabari grilled fish gravy. The gravy was on point. Simply soulful.

Ghar ka khana : A good amount of Ghee rice served with dal makhani. Potatoes fried with Indian spices and jeera is also served along. Ghar ka khana indeed.

Desserts :
We tried drunken donuts, golden Ice cream and crazy custard.

The Custard, served along with fresh fruits and ice cream was very fresh, rich and very creamy.

Deep fried coconut crusted ice cream topped with drooliciously rich jaggery sauce and roasted almonds. Yum!

A meal for two may come up to 500+ tax. Totally worth it.

PS: DO NOT confuse Cafe Central with Coffee Central, which is also located in the same area.
