Sweet tooth 0.1

Life is short, eat your desserts first!! That’s the motto I live by.. When the sweet tooth demands the attention, it’s the best to drop everything and head to your nearest dessert parlor.

I’m always up for desserts and these are just a few of my favorites:

Amadora : Amadora is one those places that crawls into your favorite list after just one visit. Done up in maroon and white with minimalistic decor, the dessert counter steals the show..

What I love:

Underbaked – It’s a block of pure unadulterated LOVE!! Underbaked cookie loaded with oodles of dark chocolate buttons which after a few seconds in the microwave turns into poetry on papercup. Underbaked teamed along with the dark chocolate sorbet is sheer Bliss.

Other must tries : a large scoop of birthday cake ice cream, ‘A’ cup and the salted caramel ice cream. Yumm!!

Location : Nungambakkam, alwarpet, anna Nagar and ECR

Cost for two : 500+ ( every bit worth it )
Bombay brasserie :  It’s not a dessert joint. It’s a restaurant that serves kickass desserts. Done up beautifully in shades of teal, yellow and white with natural light floating in through well designed glass walls and windows, the place is very picturesque. Random brass Knick knacks add a rich touch to the place.

What I love :

Amritsari kulfa : Rich and thick malai kulfi topped with wholesome rabri, chopped almond, falooda and served on dry ice. Good on the eyes and awesome on the lips!

Other must tries : Shahi tukra, paper baked chocolate pudding.

Location : nungambakkam & Adyar.

Cost for two : 400+ ( just for the desserts)

Waf o Bel : Run by a Belgian citizen residing in the city, the waffles served here are to die for. Done up artistically, the place is a shrine for TinTin comic lovers.

What I love:

: Fresh and hot waffles topped with vanilla and dark chocolate whipped cream and served with chocolate ice cream, a block of dark chocolate fudge on the side and topped with rich cocoa powder.. It’s *swoons* wauw!!

Other must tries : Affagato, Dream team, Hot chocolate, Belgian chocolate shake.

Location : Chetpet.

Cost for two : 500+

Pantry Dor
: It means Golden pantry in French and Golden is what it is!! The place is heaven for those with sweet tooth. Done up in shades of beige and brown, the place is warm and welcoming.

What I love :

Chocolate marquise
: This traditional French rich chocolate dessert is for serious chocoholics. Oh so creamy and delicious that it melts in the mouth. Félicité!!

Other must tries : Roasted almond brownie, Choco lava and Sticky bread pudding.

Cost for two : 300+

Shree Mithai : When sweettooth is mentioned, indian sweet can be far behind. Shree Mithai is well known and I have loved them ever since they opened up in the 90s.

What I love :

Bhoondi ladoo :
This one needs no introduction. It’s present in weddings, b’days, Poojas and any celebration and this makes its way into our homes.

Other must tries : Peda, Coconut barfi and Kaju katli, Badam milk.

Location : Chetpet, Anna Nagar, Adyar..

Cost for two : 300+

Sigh.. Sweettooth calling again..

Happy hogging!!
